The Stacked House explores how a family home can feel expansive and intimate at the same time, balancing openness with retreat through vertical organisation, filtered light, and a refined material palette.
The architectural language was developed as a sequence of stacked volumes that create clarity and depth. Instead of relying on scale alone, the design uses sectional relationships, framed views, and carefully controlled transitions between shared and private spaces.
Material warmth, filtered daylight, and measured openings help the home feel grounded in its setting while still offering a distinctly contemporary identity. The result is a residence that is not only visually memorable, but deeply usable in everyday life.
Three guiding decisions helped define the architecture, atmosphere, and lived experience of the house.
The plan was structured to create fluid movement between social, semi-private, and private zones without abrupt breaks in the experience.
Views, light, and privacy were calibrated through strategic apertures that frame the outdoors while maintaining intimacy within.
A restrained material palette was used to soften the contemporary form and build a sense of calm continuity across the house.
The Stacked House represents the firm's residential approach at its clearest: architecture that is precise without feeling rigid, expressive without losing restraint, and deeply tailored to the rhythms of the people living within it. It is a project where planning, light, proportion, and atmosphere work together rather than as separate layers of design.
